I left school at 16 with no qualifications and joined the Royal Air Force, training as an aircraft mechanic. What began as a job became a 30-year career, during which I developed a strong passion for learning, eventually earning two bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree in Education. After leaving the RAF as a Chief Technician, I spent 15 years teaching in Further and Higher Education, including 12 years as a Lecturer in Aeronautical Engineering at Coventry University. Now semi-retired, I run a small business part-time, creating and delivering activity-based learning programmes for individuals with brain injuries, neuro-diversity and learning disabilities. I’m married to Tanya, and together we help care for my sister, Ilaine, who has learning disabilities. I’m also a proud father of two sons and grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren. At home, we share our lives with Cheery, our much-loved rescue Lurcher. I volunteer as a Community First Responder with the South Central Ambulance Charity, and in my spare time I enjoy woodworking, repairing and restoring things, and classic car projects. My principal motivation for joining the Parish Council is to help improve the facilities and amenities within the village for the benefit of all residents, and to encourage a stronger sense of community where everyone feels included and valued.
